Two Young people’s Jury Programme this year’s at Cornwall Film Festival and AMPLIFY Virtual Film Festival

Last year, our Young People’s Jury participants received workshops, mentoring and training in critical film theory, were fully involved in our annual film festival, and voted on our Short Film Competition – culminating in the award of the Young Person’s Jury Prize at our prestigious awards evening.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for young people, aged 16-25 to get real-life experience of how pre-selection panels and judging work in the film industry!

Participants of this year’s YPJP will take part in online sessions which include film criticism workshops from film critic and curator Tara Judah and writer and creative practitioner Amanda White, and live chats with writers from around the region. They will also be provided the platform to engage in discussions with their fellow jury members. They will have the opportunity to publish their writings on the films in the form of an online festival blog.

ONLINE DELIVERY – Given the current COVID-19 situation, most of the programme will be delivered on online platforms to ensure the safety of all participants, improving accessibility for everyone by eliminating travel costs.

BE A PART OF THE FESTIVAL – Beyond the opportunity to watch the films to be screened, participants will have their say in shaping which film will be awarded the Young People’s Jury award-winner.

MASTERCLASSES – Participants will have the chance to attend masterclasses delivered by industry professionals who will be sharing their personal insights and help guide the participants as they venture into film criticism.
