Production Coronavirus Stories
Coronavirus Stories Cornwall
Together Behind Closed Doors
Production begins on the Coronavirus Stories Cornwall, the project idea came out of a conversation on how we document the experiences of communities during the Coronavirus crisis. How do we come together while staying apart? The hope is that we can learn more about each other, while also inspiring others to do the same in their own streets.
From 54 addresses of mixed residential, social, private and multiple housing, we will ask our neighbours to contribute their stories and their thoughts on the theme ‘together’ during this time, selecting strong and diverse voices, each showing a different side to community life here in Cornwall. This is peer to peer storytelling – by the community, for our community – making pieces that are equally engaging and enlightening for audience.
Cornwall Film Festival has commissioned filmmaker Clare Tavernor of Phono to conduct a series of short audio interviews with residents of St Thomas Street, Penryn. Photographs and accompanying audio will be hosted on CFF’s website, and 1-minute cut downs will also be posted on Instagram. Clare Directed over 40 films for The Culture Show on BBC2, Series Producer for BBC1, and, most recently, a three-part music series for BBC Four
