The Poly

For our 2017 Film Festival we have returned to an old friend, Falmouth’s very own, The Poly.

Situated in the heart of Falmouth, The Poly is an arts institution that is a local hotspot and the perfect venue for an independent film festival. Having worked with The Poly for years, it’s a real treat to be able to return to the venue for this, the 16th Edition of the Cornwall Film Festival. We’ll be returning to our friends at the Poly by Popular demand this year, and you’ll be able to find the full programme of events here or on The Poly’s very own website here.

Access

The Poly is a Grade 2* listed building, that is nearly 200 years old.

We regret that access to the building is not easy for anybody with mobility issues.

The building is on many different levels, accessed by stairs. We do not have a lift, nor do we have any disabled accessible toilets.

The Poly is at this time unble to offer some limited access to our theatre which has two wheelchair spaces.

Access to these is down a side alley at the rear of the building, If you would like to book a wheelchair space, please ring in advance on 01326 319461 to arrange for the ramps to be put in place and for a member of staff to assist you.

Please note that this access is not suitable for large motorised wheel-chairs.

Not all disabilities are related to restricted mobility. If you (or someone for whom you are an essential carer) have other needs, we will do our best to make your visit to The Poly easier and enjoyable. Please contact a member of staff on 01326 319461 to discuss your visit and your needs.

Falmouth Town & BID

Falmouth is widely renowned as a cultural and artistic hub in Cornwall. The vibrant harbour town has a thriving creative scene and is home to the prestigious Falmouth University, whose School of Film & Television has received critical acclaim throughout the country.

We are lucky enough to be able to run our events in Falmouth thanks to the Falmouth Business Improvement District (BID). Falmouth BID is a not-for-profit company responsible for delivering a number of innovative projects that aim to improve the trading environment of Falmouth.

It is business-led, with over 400 businesses being part of it, following extensive consultation, ballot and overwhelming ‘yes’ vote. Numerous initiatives have been delivered – destination marketing, new events and festivals, PR campaign, public realm improvements and business training programmes.
