We recognise that volunteers play a vital role in the Cornwall Film Festival organisation and as we grow would not be able to operate effectively without you !
If you’re looking to cultivate your experience within the UK film industry, build your CV and experience or simply do something new then look no further! We’re looking for just 12 enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers with a passion for film and media who can work with us on our outdoor events, education and festival projects. Whats in it for you, you ask? Well not only will be gifted with a free Cornwall Film Festival 2017 T-shirt, you’ll also get, volunteers bursary of £50 towards travel, a reference and most of the time a complementary pasty! More importantly you are given opportunities to attend training events, other festivals, such as LFF and Future Film, BAFTA masterclasses and the chance to work with a network of professional filmmakers and media practitioners.
As a Cornwall Film Festival 2017 Crew Member you’ll be assigned to one of our main roles. At public events you’ll be at the heart of the event, greeting and directing guests, helping out with setting up and breaking down equipment, individuating events and dealing with audience evaluations. Don’t worry we are not all about public events you could work in the office with the team, updating our social media & websites, organise and coordinate projects, document & photography, edit video, conduct research or write reports, there are lots of roles.
At events we generally work in shifts available each day of the event (10am-4pm and 4pm-11pm) and you can book yourself in for as many or as few as you want using a booking calendar. We ask for a commitment of at least 20 hrs across 9 months. You will need to be at least 16 years old, if you 16-18 you will need your parents/carers consent and be able to arrange transport to and from events. If you are under 19 you could qualify for extra Timebank credits such as ITunes vouchers.
